Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Occupational Safety from Keene State College.
Started with OSHA in 1994 as a compliance safety and health officer. As a CSHO he was responsible for almost 1000 inspections including many high profile impactful investigations.
In 2005, promoted to the Assistant Area Director position where he oversaw and managed 4500 inspections, 34 significant cases and 650 accident investigations including 75 fatality investigations. Steve was the lead investigator for a double fatality investigation which resulted in 1.2 million in penalties and the owner being convicted of 2 counts of manslaughter and negligent homicide which resulted in two consecutive 5–10-year sentences.
His Team has provided impactful compliance assistance including 3 instances of staff being selected for the most interesting case for this organization. Steve had one himself.
Promoted to the Area Director position for the Andover Massachusetts office in June 2026.
